Education and
Training Center
The
Education and Training Center of Pima Health System (PHS) provides
and facilitates education for the community, contracted providers
and PHS employees. Classes are designed to meet the needs of
professionals providing services to PHS members and to assist in
the unique challenges of caregivers.
Continuing Education:
Contracted providers are invited to attend Pima Health System in-services. The Education Center provides an on going
Calendar of Events
Continuing Education topics include cultural diversity awareness, updates and overviews of various medical and behavioral conditions, community resources available to our members, and skill building for your staff.
Cultural Competency and Cultural Diversity in-services are offered regularly throughout the year. An introduction to cultural competency, "The impact of Cultural Diversity on Our Lives" is offered every month by Pima Health System. This class explores the variety of cultures and attitudes we encounter every day as health care providers. We cannot allow cultural barriers to limit our ability to respectfully and effectively meet the needs of our members and patients.
Pima Health System in-services are open to you and your staff. See the
Calendar of Events for dates of upcoming in-services. Please call the Education Department to reserve your seat.
When you are unable to attend an event or you would like information on the topic, please let the Education Department know of your interest. We are happy to send you resource information on cultural topics and
in-services.
