Provider Assistance
Provider
and Contract Services is the PHS division responsible for the
development of a network of service providers for the PHS
Acute/ambulatory Managed Care Organization (Plan), the Arizona
Long Term Care System managed care programs (LTC) and the
Community Services System (CSS) programs. This is accomplished by
conducting industry research, developing service specifications,
developing and securing Requests for Proposals, and developing,
negotiating and monitoring contracts.
The
PHS Provider and Contract Services Division supports contracted
providers by identifying opportunities for communication, training
and education. PHS provides education to new providers during an
initial on-site orientation visit. Existing providers can request
training meetings that cover PHS policies, AHCCCS/ALTCS
requirements, provider qualifications, credentialing, referrals,
billing and other issues of importance to providers. The PHS
Training and Education Center is also available for specialized
training. In an effort to maintain open communication, PHS
conducts on-site visits, regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings,
writes quarterly newsletters, and delivers targeted mailings. PHS
Provider Services also conducts annual provider satisfaction
surveys, supports and educates providers on PHS policies and
procedures, and provides member rosters. Provider and Contract
Services staff is always available to answer questions by
telephone during normal business hours.
To
ensure an adequate provider network and quality services, Provider
and Contract Services regularly monitors its providers and
facilities. Provider and Contract Services can provide technical
assistance to its providers in assisting them in their compliance
efforts.

Services may be contacted, by calling (520) 243-8349

ELECTRONIC
PAYMENTS
AN ADDED CONVENIENCE FOR PROVIDERS...
PHS now has the ability to make electronic payments to providers
who are interested in having this service. In
order to set this up, the Provider must complete a PHS Automated
Clearinghouse (ACH) Vendor Authorization Form.
This will allow PHS to electronically deposit payments made
to the Provider into the Provider’s account at a designated
financial institution. For
more information about initiating this process, please contact your assigned provider services representative at their direct number or call 243-8349.
