Mileage Reimbursement
An Attendant Care Worker who travels between two or more assignments in one day can claim mileage.
Mileage can not be claimed from home to the first assignment or from the final assignment to home.
An ACW who drives 35 miles or more (round trip) to one assignment is eligible for
actual mileage reimbursement minus a standard mileage deduction of 10 miles (average travel distance from home to place of employment).
This can be confusing, so it should be reviewed with the nurse the first time.
To request mileage reimbursement a Mileage Report
must be completed. The report must include the date of assignment, the client's address, the beginning and ending odometer reading for each visit, and the Attendant Care Worker's signature.
Mileage reports must be submitted at the end of each month to the Nurse Supervisor for that assignment.
